We understand in some cases communicating with your ex-partner can be challenging although when you have children together it is important to try to communicate the best you can and share equal responsibilities and duties for your children.
How do you deal with a co-parent that wont communicate?
If your ex-partner will not communicate with you or through your solicitor or agree to go to mediation to resolve your issues then you may have to issue an application to Court for a Child Arrangements Order.
Do you have to communicate with a co-parent?
If you are dealing with a difficult co-parent it is possible to reduce direct communication with the use of a Parenting app or alternatively a Communication Book which each of you update with important information and the book will travel with your child between households.
Do I have to let my ex-partner communicate with the children on my time?
In an ideal world each parent should be aware that whilst in their care the children may want to speak to the other parent and be flexible enough to allow this to happen. If your ex-partner is being unreasonable in requesting that they speak to the children during your time then you do not have to comply with this request unless there is a Court Order that you do so.
